Who We Are
Pain became purpose.
The Unearthed Foundation exists because individuals and families facing life's greatest challenges deserve more than judgment — they deserve access to structure, accountability, opportunity, and the conditions to build something different.
The Unearthed Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and registered to conduct nonprofit operations in California. Our flagship California program, WMP Transformation Campus, operates in Fresno.
The organization is led by Executive Director Breland Brown. Its mission grew from Breland's personal experiences with profound tragedy, loss, and the impact that incarceration and systemic barriers can have on individuals and families. Rather than allowing those experiences to become the end of the story, pain became purpose.
The Unearthed Foundation grew from the belief that people should not be permanently defined by incarceration, homelessness, addiction, trauma, mental health challenges, poverty, loss, or past mistakes. Transformation begins with the soil in which people are planted.
We do not see people as buried by their past. We see them as planted with the potential to build a different future.
Our Mission
To restore visibility, dignity, and opportunity for justice-involved individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and individuals and families facing mental health, substance use, trauma, and other life challenges — through structured housing, trauma-informed care, behavioral health support, workforce development, education, and reintegration services that help people achieve lasting stability while building safer, stronger communities.
Our Approach
Support without accountability is incomplete.
Accountability without support is ineffective.

Human Connection
Our goal is not simply to provide temporary services. Our goal is to help individuals develop the tools, relationships, stability, and opportunities necessary to create sustainable change.
Planted…Not Buried
People are not buried by their past.
With the right environment, structure, accountability, opportunity, and support, people can grow beyond the circumstances that once defined them.
